PRESS KIT - SYNOPSIS

Flyerman is a verite style exploration of one man's search for acceptance in an unforgiving world. He craves acceptance from the public, from unattainable women, and most importantly from his conservative father.

The filmmakers follow Mark Vistorino for five years as he struggles to find his calling in life. After abandoned attempts at different vocations he creates his alter ego, "Flyerman", a character born out of an unusual talent for handing out flyers to the public. But Flyerman doesn't stop at flyers, he becomes, to some degree, a celebrity among the local club and concert scene. At last, he experiences a taste of acceptance in the form of fame. This inspires Mark to take Flyerman to the world stage.

During this tour to places like L.A., Vegas and even Barbados, Mark's quest for greater fame proves to be somewhat less fruitful than he had hoped. With each disappointment Mark reveals painful personal observations to the camera with unflinching honesty. Further affected by tragedies in his own life, this quest has now evolved into a journey of self-discovery.

Despite the hardships, despite rejection, Mark never gives up. He continues his search for acceptance and fame, trying new paths and retrying old ones. But it's in discovering that the shortest path to acceptance may not be through Flyerman that he finds himself closer than ever to what he's yearned for all along.

Flyerman begins as a character study and ends as an in depth illustration of the unyielding endurance of the human spirit. Whether acting out of naiveté or bravery, Mark offers an unabashed insight into his resilience. And it's the ability of the filmmakers to create an unusual trust with their subject, not to mention their own unrelenting determination, that allows for the most candid revelations to be shared.
